Waiting Well
At the depths of my soul, I long for the day of Jesus' return. The day without tears, sorrow, or pain but with the perfect presence of Jesus.
But we wait.
We are told to wait expectantly, in hope and in prayer. We long for restoration.
But Lord, help us to wait well.
To press on in endurance, to run the race, to leave sin behind, to tell of His perfect salvation. We don't sit idly, without purpose.
Right now, waiting seems to be prominent and intense for myself and others near to me, in all different circumstances.
Not just for The Lord's return, but for other good, good, seemingly God glorifying things.
Who's with me?
The wait that causes ache, forces you to your knees in desperation, that sometimes brings forth periods of bitterness, that is often spent in deep sorrow, that leaves you begging for grace every morning.
Probably the same feelings of desperation were experienced by Mary and Martha as they waited for Jesus to come and to heal their brother.
Let us wait well. Let us be as the persistent widow, asking, begging, returning over and over again to the throne of grace.
Just as I wait for the coming of Christ and complete restoration..
But we wait.

Let's wait like we wait for His return.
In the ache, the whys, the mundane, the begging,the impossibility.
God, I want to eagerly, in Your love, wait according to Your great promise, through the Spirit by faith.
Mary and Martha wept with Jesus after their brother's death. But Jesus raised him. Restored and new, as will be the resurrection of His children at His coming. When it is impossible, God likes to come through... to Him be the glory.
A sweet, sweet friend shared this quote with me through tears of joy yesterday...
